Position Overview

Performs complex (senior-level) computer programming work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Information Technology Services Division. Writes or modifies existing Salesforce cloud code and configuration of the eLicensing based upon business requirements or verbal instruction from management with the objective of meeting agency needs in one or more agency divisions/units. Trains others through design specifications or product demos. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 years required: Deep understanding of the Salesforce IDE; hands-on experience.
• 8 years required: Progressively responsible experience performing systems analysis, design, and development on business applications software.
• 8 years required: Proficiency in various database scripting languages like SQL, Apex, Native, VisualForce.
• 8 years required: Able to work independently and collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and other team members.
• 4 years required: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or a related field, plus 8+ years of progressive experience in programming or systems analysis/design. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
• 4 years required: Experience working with large data sets and bulkification.
• 4 years required: Competency in other languages or development (XML, Flex, JavaScript, .NET, SQL, C++, SOAP-based web services).
• 4 years required: Experience implementing and developing in Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and Java; general web development experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• 3 years required: Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript and C# language.
• 3 years required: Well-versed with the Lightning framework; proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio, Salesforce Lightning Design System, and the Salesforce development lifecycle.
• 3 years required: Experience with SVN, GitHub, and JIRA.
• 3 years required: Experience in writing software development documentation, including designs, mockups, workflows, test cases to ensure functional and optimized performance, and knowledge transfer documents.
• 3 years required: Advanced scripting skills.
• 2 years required: Experience in technical report writing and documentation specifications.
• 2 years required: Experience in Confluence and JAMA.
• 2 years preferred: Experience in Confluence, JAMA.
• 2 years preferred: Agile management software development with test-driven development, iterative development, Scrum pair, and other agile practices and methodologies.
• 2 years preferred: Experience in using IDEs like Eclipse, Meeclipse, STS for debugging and using Java coding standards from the beginning of development.
• 1 year preferred: Texas State Agency developer experience, preferably TxDMV.
