About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Application Architect who will bring deep expertise and leadership to help define the vision, mission, and strategy for our clients' enterprise digital transformation initiatives. In this role, you will work with clients to understand business challenges, design scalable and secure AWS-based solutions, develop proposals, and guide teams through successful delivery. Beyond solutioning, you'll play a key role in overseeing engagements and ensuring outcomes are aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development, Migration & Modernization
- Architect full-stack applications leveraging cloud-native principles (microservices, containers, serverless, Angular, React).
- Lead cloud migration initiatives, from assessment to execution, moving legacy applications to AWS.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate proposed solutions.
- Optimize AWS applications for cost, scalability, and performance.
- Implement DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization for modern application development.
Cloud Architecture
- Design and implement application solutions on AWS, ensuring reliability and security.
- Leverage AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Fargate, Glue) to build scalable and resilient architectures.
- Ensure applications meet enterprise performance, availability, and compliance standards.
Architecture Definition & Frameworks
- Define reference architectures for application migration and modernization.
- Apply industry frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, C4 models, Clean Architecture).
- Stay updated with modern approaches such as BFF, event-driven design, and API-first models.
Business & Stakeholder Engagement
- Translate business needs into technical architecture and solution strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (business, product, engineering) to deliver aligned solutions.
- Present solution proposals, costs, and timelines to client stakeholders.
- Engage directly with clients (including banking sector preferred) in an onsite-offshore delivery model.
Qualifications
Experience Required
- 14+ years in Application Development.
- 5+ years applying digital-native application design principles (microservices, containers, serverless, Angular/React).
- Proven track record of leading cloud migration & modernization initiatives.
Key Skills
- Cloud Services: Strong expertise in AWS application architecture design.
- High Availability & Security: Designing fault-tolerant, secure, RBAC-driven applications.
- Full-Stack Knowledge: Experience across Web, Middleware, DB (.Net/Java, Websphere/Tomcat/JBoss, Oracle/SQL, Microservices).
- Scalable Solutions: Designing secure, scalable, highly available solutions on AWS.
- Customer-Facing: Skilled in working directly with clients in hybrid delivery models.
Technical Proficiency
- AWS Services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Fargate, Glue, DynamoDB, Redshift.
- Microservices & Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Strong knowledge of automation pipelines on AWS.
- Security & Compliance: IAM, AWS security best practices, BCP/DR solutions.
- Architecture Frameworks: TOGAF, Zachman, WAF/CAF, C4 models, API/messaging systems.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, Java, C# (.Net experience preferred).
- Familiar with APM and troubleshooting tools for monitoring and performance tuning.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Certifications (Preferred, not mandatory)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- Additional AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, Advanced Networking Specialty) are a plus.
