SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring to advance space capabilities supporting our Department of Defense ( DOD) and Intelligence Community customers Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more .

This position is for a Space Systems Ground Lead for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge an d innovative space program . The Ground Lead must possess , and have successfully demo nstrated , technical space ground engineering competence, IT integration experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills . The Ground Lead is the part n er with the Govt leadership to effectively plan, organize and execute all acquisition and engineering activities across the system life cycle .

The Ground Lead provides leadership and support to the customers execution of mission critical systems with responsibilities that may include , but are not limited to the following:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prioritiz e tasks across the team based on mission criticality and available resources
  • Tracking and reporting progress at multiple levels of Contractor and Government leadership
  • Providing expert-level space ground engineering analysis and recommendations to the blended SETA and Developer team responsible for developing and integrating existing capabilities to satisfy future missions
  • Representing Ground equities in system engineering processes including requirements management, configuration management, and risk management.
  • Leading a team of direct SETA support staff to ensure a positive work environment


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense architectures, spacecraft, and payloads
  • Bachelors and 14 years of relevant experience; OR Masters and 12 years of relevant experience
  • Superb technical skills and experience related to space ground systems hardware and software. Focus on Command and Telemetry and Space Relay solutions.
  • Ability to lead and be the primary point of contact for one or more projects
  • Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong briefing and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate very technical subjects to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision
