A Full Service IT Employment Consulting Firm is seeking qualified candidates for the following opening:
Network/Systems Specialist
The client plans to hire a Systems Specialist with experience in basic network and wireless operations, equipment replacement, and voice systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technical personnel with the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting of voice, wireless, and network systems and related software.
- Participate in site surveys and planning for fiber circuits, collecting circuit and patch cable requirements, creating bills of materials, and obtaining quotes from suppliers.
- Plan, stage, install, connect, test, or decommission IT infrastructure systems in the field, data centers, server rooms, and telecommunications rooms/closets, under the direction of senior personnel.
- Perform quality assurance inspections of fiber circuits, including troubleshooting using supplied equipment, ensuring proper cable management and labeling, and updating related documentation.
- Maintain and update records of installed systems and equipment using applications such as Visio, Excel, and other productivity tools and systems of record.
- Assist with planning and execution of voice, network, and wireless equipment upgrades and migrations as part of technical project teams.
- Provide technical support including installation, documentation, problem-solving, and ongoing support for university voice, wireless, and fiber circuit infrastructure projects.
- Support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of university information in alignment with the Information Security Program.
- Follow policies, protocols, standards, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as required.
