Position Summary

We seek a skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Medicare Population Health Enablement data science team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting and evaluating a variety of initiatives to reduce health disparities in Aetna's Medicare population. We are looking for a data scientist with dual experience in program evaluation, health disparities, and/or clinical bias. You will analyze problems like how benefit changes impact members and examine the effectiveness of programs to assist members with social risk factors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define objectives, and deliver insights on the cloud.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years industry experience in data science or machine learning
  • 3+ years industry experience in program design, management, or evaluation
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure)
  • Experience querying production tables for obtaining data (e.g. SQL, NoSQL)
  • Proficient in Python and object-oriented programming
  • Experience in statistics and hypothesis testing
  • Good communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in social science (e.g., psychology, public health), data science, statistics, computer science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful design, deployment, management, and evaluation of programs to address disparities between groups.
  • Experience with healthcare data, especially in the health disparity domain.
  • Knowledge of advanced experimental techniques (mixed modeling, difference-in-difference designs, propensity scores)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform tools (e.g., BigQuery, VertexAI, Composer)
  • Ability to effectively lead data science projects from start to finish, mentor junior colleagues, and drive data science initiatives.
  • Advanced degree in social science (e.g., psychology, public health), data science, statistics, computer science or related field.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
