Job Details

A globally recognized law firm with a strong footprint across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America is currently seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to join its growing IT team.

This role is focused on building and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, while ensuring alignment with internal governance, compliance standards, and risk management goals.

The Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with multiple technical and business teams including infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and records/governance to ensure that the firm's cloud environment meets regulatory and industry best practices.

In this capacity, the Azure Cloud Architect will:

  • Cloud Architecture & Strategy
    • Develop automation scripts for repeatable deployments;
    • Define tagging, cost controls, policy enforcement, and identity/access management (IAM) strategies;
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Partner with application owners, IT infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth migration and ongoing operations of workloads in Azure;
    • Support investigations, incident response, and security audits involving cloud assets;
  • Innovation & Optimization
    • Continuously evaluate new Azure services, automation capabilities, and tools to enhance productivity and reduce risk;
    • Guide optimization of cost, performance, and operational efficiency across the Azure estate;
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and govern security best practices including Azure Policy, Azure Key Vault, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Azure Security Center;
    • Collaborate with Information Security to enforce encryption (at rest/in transit), DLP, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles; and
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 27001.

Proficiencies:

  • Expert proficiency in deployment and optimization of Azure services including networking (VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall, Express Route), identity (Entra ID), compute (VMs, AVD), and storage (Blob, Files, Disk);
  • Expert proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), scripting (PowerShell), and DevOps pipelines;
  • Familiarity with secure collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Intune, Conditional Access); and
  • Proven experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Advanced degree (preferred);
  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure or cloud experience, with 4+ years focused on Azure cloud architecture; and
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer; and
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
