Role: Senior Techno-Functional Project Manager Workday Global Process Standardization (Contract)

Location: Coppell, TX

Duration: 12 months (extendable)

Rate: Market

What is Required:

- Workday SME: (Core HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, and Learning)

- Prior experinace leading a standardization Process/Program

- 10+ years of HRIS/IT project management experience.

- 5+ years hands-on Workday implementation or process design experience.

Nice to Have:

PMP, Prince2, or Workday certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Project Leadership

Lead the global Workday process standardization program, ensuring harmonization across multiple geographies.

Define governance, program roadmaps, global templates, and rollout plans.

Manage vendors, system integrators, and cross-functional HR/IT stakeholders.

Track risks, issues, deliverables, and ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.

Functional & Process Expertise

Act as SME in Workday modules, covering Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, and Learning.

Conduct workshops with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to define global processes.

Develop standardized global process designs and configurations, balancing global consistency with local statutory needs.

Validate HR processes against Workday product capabilities and identify gaps or required extensions.

Support policy alignment, change impact analysis, and HR operating model adjustments.

Technical & Integration Oversight

Oversee integrations between Workday and downstream systems (Payroll providers, Finance systems, Benefits platforms, Identity/Access Management, etc.).

Collaborate with integration teams to design interfaces, data flows, and reporting frameworks.

Ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

Direct system testing (SIT, UAT), data validation, and cutover activities.

Stakeholder & Change Management:

Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, Finance, and regional leaders.

Drive business readiness, training, and adoption of standardized Workday processes.

Deliver executive-level updates, KPIs, and RAG dashboards to sponsors.

Align program with HR transformation and shared services strategy.

Deliverables & Success Measures:

Delivery of global Workday process templates and design standards.

Alignment of HR policies, workflows, and data models across all regions.

Seamless integrations with backend HR/Finance/Payroll systems.

90% adherence to standardized processes within 6 months post-rollout.

Smooth transition to steady-state governance and support models.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of HRIS/IT project management experience.
  • 5+ years hands-on Workday implementation or process design experience.
  • Deep SME knowledge across multiple Workday modules (Core HCM mandatory; Payroll, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Learning strongly preferred).
  • Strong experience in global HR process harmonization and standardization projects.
  • Proven experience managing global stakeholders, vendors, and SI partners.
  • Excellent communication and executive reporting skills.
  • PMP, Prince2, or Workday certification preferred.
