Our Challenge:

We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and integrations utilizing the latest technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable data workflows while working with advanced domains such as blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). This role offers an exciting opportunity to innovate at the intersection of data engineering and emerging tech trends.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100K-$110K/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, IoT devices, and blockchain platforms.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Integrate data related to blockchain transactions, IoT sensor feeds, and AI/ML models into scalable data pipelines.
  • Leverage cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and big data technologies to facilitate real-time and batch data processing.
  • Develop and implement data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to ensure data integrity.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies such as blockchain frameworks, IoT protocols, and AI/ML tools, incorporating relevant innovations into data workflows.
  • Maintain documentation of data pipeline architecture, data lineage, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures or performance bottlenecks.
  • Assist in deploying and monitoring machine learning models and AI solutions within data pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as an ETL Developer or Data Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on development.
  • Strong proficiency in ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, SSIS) or custom scripting (Python, Spark, Scala).
  • Experience working with blockchain data structures and APIs.
  • Familiarity with IoT data formats, protocols (MQTT, CoAP), and processing platforms.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts, with experience integrating or deploying models into data workflows.
  • Experience with cloud-based data services (AWS Glue, Google Dataflow, Azure Data Factory).
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to data quality.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Microsoft DP-420).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for data pipeline deployment.
  • Understanding of security, compliance, and data governance best practices in data handling.
  • Exposure to AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
