Information Systems Architect

Roles/Responsibilities:

Mid-Senior level Citrix VDI Architect will be responsible for providing level-2 and level-3 technical support for Citrix/XenApps server environment. This position will analyze and evaluate major system project requirements of considerable complexity requiring a thorough understanding of all parameters affecting and interfacing with the system. Review user requirements and provide direction in the identification of problem and potential resolution. Provide analytical support in the conceptualization, development and implementation of complex, multiple inter-linked systems. Define system objectives and prepare system design specifications to meet user requirements and satisfy interface problems. Job duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

1. Providing level-2 and level-3 technical support for Citrix / XenApps server environment
2. Monitoring of VDI platform with various client tools Netscaler, ControlUP)
3. Support will include:
4. VDI End-User Sessions
5. VDI Stack
6. Level-2 management and technical support
7. Ensuring virtual sessions are working as intended
8. Handling IT- VDI related requests or inquiries received by client helpdesk
9. Ensuring all Citrix platform server systems under management have updated software patches
10. XenDesktop Broker including VDI monitoring and alerting support of the Citrix /VMware applications which are responsible for delivery of the virtualized desktop or applications
11. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction for the products/solutions which are supported
12. Addresses all technical questions around VDI and Citrix
13. Participate in client meetings to update team members
14. Ability to be the technical Subject Matter Expert within the Environment
15. Deploy and support core Microsoft services, AD, ADFS, DNS & DHCP, WSUS and Group Policy.

Mandatory Skills:

1. 5+ years technical experience with Citrix administration, including XenServer
2. 5+ years' experience with Microsoft Windows Servers and Microsoft Windows Infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, WSUS, etc.)
3. 5+ years' experience Design and Architect experience
4. Education: A Bachelor of Computer Science degree or a related field, plus five years or more professional experience supporting a large scale enterprise Windows environment and experience in Citrix VDI.
5. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
6. Proven experience with Citrix/Xen Apps, VMware Administration, Microsoft Windows Servers, Citrix App Layering
7. Team member training.
8. Adaptable, flexible, and self-motivated with strong technical and problem solving skills
9. Advanced system testing tool knowledge & experience
10. Strong technical experience with the following technologies: * Citrix Xen Desktop
11. Citrix Xen Server
12. Microsoft Windows infrastructure.
13. Ability to work well within a team environment
14. Experience with Workflow analysis
15. Technical collaboration for client problem solving
16. Ability to apply best practices to ensure maximum amount of production
17. Ability to provide one-on-one training to teammates

Desirable Skills:

1. Monitoring of VDI platform with various client tools (Netscaler, ControlUP)
2. Certification: Citrix Administration Certification
3. Ability to effectively communicate with large or small groups of people through written or spoken communication
4. Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems in a critical environment, identify root cause, create action plans, and resolve issues Ability to plan a large complex undertaking and effectively focus the efforts of a group to execute the plan for infrastructure implementation of systems.
5. Must be a self-starter demonstrating the willingness to address / resolve ambiguity and conflict within complex VDI environment.
6. Develop update processes and work with team members to maintain currency in the VDI environment.
