Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced and tech-savvy Product Owner who has a strong development background and is passionate about aligning business and technical goals.
  • The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise to bridge the gap between development teams and stakeholders while owning and maintaining the product backlog.
  • This role requires a balance between product vision, technical understanding, and leadership to ensure the efficient delivery of product features and functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Backlog Ownership: Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring its contents are clear, actionable, and prioritized.
  • Business Requirements and Roadblocks: Work daily with the squad/teams to clarify business requirements, remove roadblocks, and maintain alignment with product stXXgy.
  • Aligning Goals: Contribute to aligning development and business goals, working with stakeholders and the squad/team to ensure priorities and execution are on track.
  • Product Candidatealth and Viability: Monitor and maintain the product's health, balancing long-term viability, efficiency, and short-term outcomes with desired results.
  • Feasibility and Cost Analysis: Analyze the feasibility of potential changes to the product, including cost of delay, economies, and other aspects of planned changes.
  • Communication of Value: Communicate expected value and any changes in value for each iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly) based on the squad/team's capacity.
  • Customer-Driven XXgn and Usability: Contribute to customer-driven design and usability testing to ensure the product meets user needs and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and 3-5 years of experience working with Agile teams.
  • Experience: At least 7 years in business, technology, or consulting with a focus on product ownership or a similar role.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex ideas, issues, and designs to varied audiences, educating departments on business vision and the impact of changes.
  • Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make difficult and quick decisions on a daily basis.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated success in leading teams to push solutions forward.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of JIRA, SAFe, and Agile methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the insurance industry is preferred. Knowledge of relevant products and portfolios is a plus.
  • Innovative Mindset: Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation in uncertain environments.
