Desktop Support Technician

Workplace Type: On-site

Contract: 6-month contract-to-hire (C2H)
Parking: ~$30/month
Schedule: 40 hours/week, fully on-site

About the Role

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join a growing IT support team that has recently taken on a significantly larger group of end users. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting Windows 10 environments, performing hardware and software break-fix, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support for a large user base (1,000+ users and 600+ devices)
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Windows 10, hardware, software, networking, and peripherals
  • Perform software installations, desktop builds, device deployment, and workstation setup
  • Resolve end-user tickets via remote tools, in-person support, and email
  • Handle hardware/software break-fix scenarios
  • Provide light support for Linux servers or Mac systems (experience required)
  • Assist with Active Directory tasks such as password resets and user support
  • Collaborate with end users and technical teams across multiple on-site locations

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of Desktop Support experience, primarily with Windows 10
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Experience supporting large user bases in a structured environment
  • Light experience with Linux or macOS
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A+ Certification preferred; additional certifications are a plus

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
