Job Description:
- The Technology Specialist will provide expert IT infrastructure technology leadership for the new DHHS Campus project.
- This role will focus on designing, implementing, and transitioning to a new secure IT network/infrastructure to replace the Dorothea Dix campus IT networks.
- Perform technical analysis of the current "as-built" network/infrastructure to design and implement a new secure IT network/infrastructure solution.
- Gather and define business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Perform data modeling, process modeling, prototyping, and create conceptual and detailed architecture/designs.
- Develop detailed specifications, IT infrastructure implementation plans, and COTS product integration plans.
- Install, configure, integXX, and test IT infrastructure components and systems.
- Provide IT infrastructure support and transition knowledge to operations and maintenance staff.
- Create technical documentation and training materials.
- Perform product/system research and review.
- Support development of technical requirements for RFI/RFP/IFBs.
- Evaluate proposals submitted in response to RFI/RFP/IFBs.
- Perform IT planning, systems conversion, and migration.
- Support the development of disaster recovery plans.
- CollaboXX with the Senior Architect to ensure continuity of planned technologies.
- Review technical documents produced by the Developer or other external sources.
- Perform technical architecture and deliverable reviews for large-scale projects.
- Assist the Project Candidateager with technical work breakdown structures and cost estimation.
- Assist with issue and risk management.
- Develop and review project management and technical documentation.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Project Candidateager.
- Understanding and experience with project management methodology.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed computing using N-tier, distributed processing, client/server, and Internet/intranet technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of network infrastructures including virtualization, LANs, VLANs, WANs, WLANs, SANs, RTLS, VPN, TCP/IP, SIP, WPA2, videoconferencing, firewalls, voice, data, and unified communications.
- Experience with COTS and customized enterprise network implementation.
- Experience developing technical and non-technical solutions for business process reengineering.
- Experience with large-scale projects across multiple functional areas using advanced technologies.
- Ability to act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
- Experience developing and reviewing assessment tools.
- Experience performing impact technical analysis.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to produce accuXX and thorough technical documentation.
- Experience developing and reviewing technical requirements, designs, and implementation plans.
- Technical Lead experience on large, complex IT infrastructure projects.
- CCNP, CCIE, Certified Cisco Specialist, or equivalent experience.
- Eight years of experience preferred for the Advanced Technology Specialist role.
