Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring a Software Engineer II at our Bellevue, WA location. Join our team developing advanced automation software for fulfillment centers.

In this role you will be a key member of a diverse engineering team that researches, develops, tests, and deploys scalable advanced industrial automation and warehouse control system software to support the growth of Chewy's operations across an extensive network of fulfillment centers. What You'll Do:
  • Craft and develop software applications that integrate with industrial automation.
  • Partner with internal software teams to integrate with other warehouse systems.
  • Work with internal operations customers to acquire system feedback and measure system performance.
  • Develop modular, highly available, secure, performant, reliable, and scalable production-ready systems using the latest technologies available.
  • Test concepts and features through simulators, emulators, and with live equipment.
  • Promote and support standard methodologies that facilitate automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization is required
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience leading the design (data structures, algorithms, performance, reliability, and scalability) and development of new software programs.
  • Ability to program in Java, Kotlin, and Python.
  • Experience in crafting terraforms in AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with cloud-native technology stacks such as AWS.
  • Experience crafting scalable RESTful services and APIs.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline including containerization, configuration management, and deployment.
  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus (if applicable):
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with scalable deployment technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Base Salary Range

$120,500-$193,500 USD
