Description
We are looking for a skilled Embedded Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced automated home appliances as part of a multidisciplinary team. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded systems and collaborate with experts across technical and design domains. Based in New York, New York, this role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing embedded electronics solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize embedded systems using STM32 microcontrollers to support home automation projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and integrate user-centric solutions.
Design and implement software in C/C++ to interface with sensors, actuators, and communication protocols such as Serial and I2C.
Analyze and interpret schematics and layouts to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
Work with various types of actuators, including DC motors, stepper motors, and others, to achieve precise functionality.
Prototype basic electronic systems to validate design concepts and troubleshoot issues.
Assist in board design by contributing to circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
Utilize tools like Python, Docker, and AutoCAD to streamline development and testing processes.
Explore Linux-based embedded systems, including custom builds with Yocto, to enhance system performance.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in embedded systems development, including hands-on work with STM32 microcontrollers.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++ for embedded software development.
Strong ability to read and work with schematics and layouts for electronic components.
Experience with actuators, including DC motors and stepper motors, and communication protocols like Serial and I2C.
Basic electronics prototyping skills to test and refine hardware designs.
Familiarity with Python, Docker, and virtual environments for development and deployment.
Knowledge of embedded Linux systems, including experience with Yocto, is a plus.
Understanding of board design, including circuit design and PCB layout, is highly desirable.
