Senior Cloud Architect - Washington, D.C.

We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to work at our contractor site in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area supporting a large data and cloud opportunity in the civilian space.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain data in a secure Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliant cloud infrastructure (currently in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) meeting agency security requirements
  • Architect, design, develop, implement, and maintain complex multicloud infrastructures
  • Analyze changes to technical implementation, source data streams, cloud infrastructure, administrator/analytic/BI tools, interfaces, application services, and business policies
  • Maintain the secure cloud infrastructure (software and equipment) to house, process, control access to, and analyze and extract data
  • Acquire and implement additional cloud services and capacity, when needed, to support larger data volumes
  • Implement cloud security tools and best practices needed to maintain a secure multicloud environment
  • Operate and maintain cloud-native endpoint security software tools, and ensure the tools are installed, configured, leveraged, and maintained to protect cloud environments from malicious attacks and files
  • Recommend, procure, maintain, and manage cloud storage, to ensure a highly reliable, scalable, cost-effective storage solution
  • Ensure Full Data Life cycle management is implemented for the stored data
  • Provision and maintain cloud storage solutions as needed to offer analytic tools to users
  • Assist in technical aspects of reporting artifacts for senior leaders of varying technical acumen. Provide appropriate context and scope, depending on the audience.
  • Communicate with senior leadership on the technical aspects of solutions in verbal and written formats
  • Make oral presentations to audiences of varying technical capabilities to evangelize and/or reinforce solutions proposed
  • Create technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) to highlight the innovative solutions that can be applied to the customer operations


Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Google Professional Cloud Architect
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
    • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
    • IBM Certified Technical Advocate - Cloud v3
    • Linux Professional Institute Linux Essentials
    • CompTIA Cloud+
  • Active ITIL certification
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experience managing federal cloud projects that include data management, data strategy, and cloud solutions
  • Experience with one or more different Agile methodologies including Scrum, Lean, SAfe
  • Experience preparing project cost estimates to include but not limited to, labor, travel, equipment and software
  • Proficiency with written technical proposals and review of proposals for technical integrity, quantification of risk, and strategic direction
  • Experience architecting, working with scaled, adaptive, performantly efficient and resilient Cloud architectures
  • Experience implementing complex, enterprise-level Cloud solutions in a multi cloud environment, consisting of COTS and GOTS products and Hybrid cloud environment
  • Experience provisioning and managing Petabyte-scale cloud data solutions
  • Successful client report and customer liaison experience
  • Must possess a strong, proactive work ethic and superior collaboration skills

Preferred
  • Agile certification (i.e., PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Manager; SAFe Agilist)
  • Master's Degree in related field of study or equivalent years of experience
  • Cloud and data management experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
