QA/QC GIS Technician (Remote)

We are seeking a fully remote QA/QC-focused GIS Technician with 2-5 years of experience working with ESRI, ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Pro to support our client's enterprise-wide platform modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will specialize in data quality assurance, validation, and compliance, ensuring spatial datasets meet accuracy, consistency, and integrity standards critical for modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on spatial datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Support data readiness and preparation for the upcoming platform modernization project with a focus on data integrity and reliability.
  • Utilize ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and other ESRI tools for data validation, error detection, and correction in spatial data analysis, processing, and visualization.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC workflows, checklists, and automated validation scripts to streamline data review processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure GIS data meets modernization requirements and adheres to quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain and update GIS datasets, geodatabases, and spatial models with an emphasis on data consistency and auditability.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues, particularly those impacting data quality and usability.
  • Document QA/QC processes, workflows, and best practices to support ongoing data governance and system transition.

Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience working with ESRI, ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial data analysis, and geospatial technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in data quality assurance, validation, and transformation for enterprise GIS platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, Python scripting, and GIS automation tools (preferred), especially for QA/QC automation.

Ability to communicate technical QA /QC findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with enterprise GIS system modernization or large-scale data migrations, with a focus on QA/QC oversight.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS platforms and emerging geospatial technologies.
  • Must work East Coast hours.
