SAP Data Migration & Data Quality

< data-start="1171" data-end="1217">1. Data Migration Strategy & Planning</>
  • Collaborate with data governance, SAP functional, and technical teams to develop data migration plans and timelines.

  • Define scope, cutover approach, and validation strategies for data migration projects.

  • Assess source systems and data readiness; identify data cleansing and enrichment requirements.

< data-start="1524" data-end="1583">2. Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL)</>
  • Design and implement data extraction and transformation processes using tools such as SAP Data Services (BODS), LTMC, LSMW, or Syniti ADM.

  • Perform mapping from legacy systems (e.g., Oracle, DB2, non-SAP ERPs) to SAP S/4HANA structures.

  • Execute test loads, mock runs, and final cutover data migrations with strong error handling and reconciliation logic.

  • Work with business users and master data teams to validate data requirements and ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Implement data profiling, cleansing, and validation rules using SAP Information Steward or equivalent tools.

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution of data issues.

  • Prepare migration design documents, data dictionaries, mapping sheets, and runbooks.

  • Maintain audit trails and data load logs to support regulatory and internal audit requirements.

  • Provide data migration status updates, risk assessments, and issue logs to PMO and leadership.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including SAP functional consultants, developers, and business SMEs, to gather requirements and resolve data issues.

  • Support training, user acceptance testing (UAT), and hypercare phases for migrated data.
