Work Location
ONSITE; this role will be onsite within the domestic U.S (excluding U.S territories).
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Position Overview:
RTX is seeking a Messaging Protection Engineer within the Messaging Protection function of Enterprise Infrastructure Services - Digital Experience and Collaboration group.
What You Will Do:
- Oversight of RTX's messaging protection by ensuring the security, reliability, and integrity of RTX email protection systems through deployment, configuration, and management of email security solutions to protect against threats such as phishing, spam, and malware
- Monitoring email traffic, responding to email security incidents, developing and maintaining email security policies, and conducting regular security assessments and audits
- Leading moderately sized projects to advance messaging protection and collaboration capabilities
- Embracing a Partner early, Partner Often philosophy with peer organizations (e.g., Cyber, Legal, Identity, etc.) to ensure requirements are understood and implementations meet all RTX policies
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of software configuration and deployment architectures
- Leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve complex email security issues
- Interfacing with RTX key business constituents to gather requirements and deliver collaborative solutions to meet business needs while reducing security risk in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Providing technical consulting for messaging protection service enhancements and integrations (e.g., applications, third-party tools)
- Supporting continued learning and staying updated with the latest security trends and technologies to maintain a robust email security posture
- Playing a key role in enhancing the overall RTX Employee Messaging Experience
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- 5 years experience with Email Protection technologies, particularly Proofpoint Email Protection Servers, Proofpoint Threat Response Auto Pull, and Cofense Triage, leveraging deep expertise in email security protocols and technologies such as DMARC, SPF, DKIM, and TLS
- 5 years advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, including system architecture, administration, and shell scripting, preferably with email protection servers
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with SPLUNK, performing deep data analysis and implementing SPLUNK dashboards and reports to provide data and support the collection of Key Performance Indicators
- Perform routine administration and maintenance of Unix/Linux-based email servers and troubleshoot to resolve email system issues, ensuring high availability and performance
- Manage moderate to large-sized projects that require interfacing with multiple technical lines of service and business unit DT management
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
- Familiarity with network security technologies such as IDS/IPS, DLP, and web proxies
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices for incident, problem, and change management
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
