The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. What You'll Do:
  • Identify, manage, and develop information security expertise to engineer innovative and cost-effective customer solutions while maintaining an innovation edge and cost advantage in the marketplace.
  • Create infrastructure of domain knowledge and processes for discipline-specific engineering, technical staff, and any other personnel assigned to the organization.
  • Develop, review, and advise information assurance on the engineering design, development, and deployment of secure systems, networks, and applications, aligning its implementation across the mission acquisition lifecycle.
  • Maintain and promote a comprehensive and holistic cybersecurity engineering view while addressing stakeholder security risks and concerns through the application of systems engineering skills.
  • Lead and manage security engineering expertise, guiding team members in customer solution engineering, and ensuring talent and skill mix alignment with program needs for new business development.
  • Ensure technical teams are trained to meet program and compliance requirements with approved standards and foster employee growth and career goals, conducting performance assessments, and administering salary, budgets, and recognition programs.
  • Direct design and development of security solutions in response to business unit capture plans, aligning with strategic plans for pursuit and proposal activities, and customer relationships.
  • Develop scalable teams to meet strategic objectives and enhance information security posture while ensuring alignment across the mission acquisition lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on information security initiatives and foster a culture of security awareness through training, communication, and remediation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities for existing and new business efforts.
  • Manage security incident response and investigation activities, including root cause analysis and remediation efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, IT, Operations, and Compliance, to integrate security into the entire development lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies in information security and recommend proactive measures to address potential risks, ensuring that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability among employees through training, awareness programs, and communication while maintaining a regular and predictable work schedule and establishing effective working relationships within the department, the SBSCUs, and the company. Additionally, perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security principles, practices, technologies, and standards, including NIST, ISO, and CIS benchmarks.
  • Capable of planning and establishing technical baselines and derived requirements with or without customer specifications for proposals and on programs containing information systems.
  • Experience in systems engineering and cybersecurity engineering disciplines in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Excellent skills in negotiation and guiding diverse groups of people, providing vision and solutions, and leading groups to understanding and consensus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex security projects and initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers and governmental figures at all levels.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5 or more years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • CISSP-ISSEP preferred.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $181000 - $250000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
