Staff Engineer, Excellence (Multiple Positions), Becton Dickinson and Company, Columbus, NE. Ensure operational and customer excellence, implementing change, and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) within the site or specific manufacturing units. Collect and analyze complex data and information. Create CI Plan for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Improvement through Blitzes using Problem Solving Methodologies, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and Six Sigma Tools. Collaborate with teams to develop and facilitate CI plans. Support implementation of CI projects across all dimensions SQDC. Develop CI budgeted cost reductions. Ensure maintenance of ongoing controls. Deliver a multi-year Cost to Win (CTW) portfolio, support governance processes, and optimization of the site loss landscape. Support CtW (Cost to Win) goals through Focused Improvement team savings projects. Integrate activities with other unit-level functions, including Operations, Enterprise, Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Regulatory. Drive data-driven visual-management techniques. Support governance and action tracking of improvements, with periodic reporting of activities.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related Engineering field, and three (3) years of related work experience.

Must have three (3) years of experience with/in:

  • Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering;
  • Knowledge in Design of Experiments;
  • Utilizing MS Office, SAP, CAS, MS Project, and Visio to drive operational improvements throughout industrial plants;
  • Coordinating Improvement Events such as Gemba Walk, 5S, or Value Stream mapping; and
  • Applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to meet CI objectives.

Up to 25% domestic travel required.
