Entry-LevelData Center Technician
We're looking for individuals ready to launch a career as a Data Center Technician.
This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates with a hands-on background in the trades-people who are comfortable working with tools and enjoy building things. If you have experience or exposure to cabling, low voltage systems, or electronics, that's a plus. If you like learning on the job, working as part of
a field crew, and tackling real-world projects, this role is an excellent way to start your journey in structured cabling and data center operations.

This is a contract to Hire Role.
The first six months of this role is in Altoona Iowa. The client will pay for Lodging and Give 50.00 Per Day for per diem. After six months the role will move to Indianapolis IN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

What You'll Do
- Install work-area outlets for floors (monuments), modular furniture (surface-mount boxes), and walls (box eliminators).
- Pull and route cable: drop cable down walls using fish tape or similar methods; route cable through modular furniture.
- Pre-termination prep: organize, form, and dress cables; determine length and slack; label all cables.
- Suspend and support cable using appropriate hardware: cable tray, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, trapeze systems.
- Build telecom closets: mount/install backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber-optic components, and related hardware.
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required.
- Fire-stopping: perform fire-stopping procedures on fire-rated walls; install sleeves; pull cable through sleeves and core penetrations.
- Terminate low-voltage devices to industry standards.
What You'll Bring
- Hands-on experience (school, work, or hobby) in the trades, cabling/low voltage/electronics, or similar mechanical/electrical work.
- Comfort using hand and power tools; ability to learn punchdown and termination best practices.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to work on ladders/lifts, stand/walk for extended periods, and lift/carry materials as needed.
- Team-oriented and professional; able to take direction and execute with quality.
