Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer with BTP Experience
Location: Detroit, MI (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract W2
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with hands-on experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to join our client's dynamic SAP team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing custom solutions within SAP systems while leveraging BTP services to enhance business processes and integration capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom ABAP programs, reports, enhancements, forms, and interfaces (RICEF objects).
- Develop and maintain OData services, CDS views, and Fiori applications using SAP BTP tools and frameworks.
- Integrate SAP with cloud and on-premise applications using SAP BTP capabilities such as Cloud Integration and Extension Suite.
- Work with functional consultants and business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to SAP development best practices.
- Support migration and upgrade projects (ECC to S/4HANA) by adapting custom code for compatibility.
- Utilize SAP BTP services for application extensions, API management, and workflow automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance SAP solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, including RICEF, SmartForms, and ALV reports.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry, Integration Suite, or Extension Suite).
- Strong knowledge of OData, CDS Views, and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration with backend systems.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA concepts and BTP extensions for S/4HANA Cloud.
- Understanding of SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and connectivity options such as Destination, XSUAA, and API Management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- SAP Certification in ABAP for S/4HANA or SAP BTP.
- Exposure to SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model).
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of JavaScript/Node.js or Python for BTP extensions.
