Enterprise Data Architect (Azure)

  • Location: Remote
    Level 2 background screening required

We re seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and optimization of enterprise-wide data systems for a large-scale government environment. This role focuses heavily on Azure cloud data services, scalable data modeling, secure architecture, and the delivery of high-quality, consumable data products across the organization.

What You ll Do

  • Design enterprise data models, data lakes, data marts, and operational data stores

  • Define data architecture standards, governance practices, and naming conventions

  • Lead implementations of secure, scalable Azure-based solutions

  • Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and workflows (Synapse, Data Factory, etc.)

  • Improve Azure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

  • Implement Data Vault 2.0 methodologies (Wherescape experience highly valued)

  • Design and optimize fact/dimension models and SQL code

  • Enhance data quality, accessibility, and governance processes

  • Deliver trusted, consumable data via information marts and curated layers

  • Document technical architecture, processes, and troubleshooting procedures

  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to align data solutions to needs

  • Promote security best practices and compliance across all data lake resources


What You Bring

  • 7+ years working with large-scale, complex database management systems

  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure data tools

  • Strong expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and pipeline engineering

  • Proven ability to design and maintain production-grade data pipelines

  • Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills

  • Experience with Data Vault 2.0 and Wherescape (preferred)

  • Knowledge of data governance, access controls, and cloud security standards

  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficiency in Python or PowerShell (preferred)


Education

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • Equivalent professional experience considered
