Akkodis currently has an Engineering Product Line Manager position with a client located in Buffalo, NY. This is an onsite position, so the person needs to live within 40 miles of Buffalo, NY. No C2C or agencies allowed with this position.
Pay/Salary Range: $00.
The Engineering Product Line Manager will need to have 10 yrs minimum engineering experience in an aerospace environment. Responsible for the technical integrity of products line portfolio and direct supervision of product line Engineers and Designers.
Required:
Ensure new product development robustness.
Develop and maintain product strategies.
Responsible for the authoring of technical proposals.
Facilitate concurrent engineering and Provide interdepartmental Engineering support.
Management staffing requirements for effective product development and support.
Implement the skills strategy in accordance with product line needs
Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct supervision and mentoring for Engineers and Designers
Technical review and approval of all engineering changes, designs and deliverables.
Manage resources allocation and skills based on needs and priorities (projects, systems, etc.).
Development and maintenance of departmental staffing plans according to the allocated budget
Develop and implement product strategy in consultation with Program, Systems, and Marketing/Sales stakeholders.
Manage subcontracting activities
Provide support C/I activities
Measure department performance through indicators and implement improvement plans in line with the product line's objectives
Deploy the improvement plans established in consultation with engineering management board.
Requested technical skills: general mechanics, fluid mechanics
Knowledge of: Control engineering, chemistry, electronics, plastics engineering, Functional analysis/Design to cost, Reliability Engineering (DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis...), Airworthiness and aviation regulations
Leadership and project Management skills, training and experience
Working knowledge of manufacturing MRP systems
Literacy on Microsoft suite of office software
Employees Supervised: Project Engineers & Design Engineers
Education:
Required - BS Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering; MS in Engineering
Preferred - MBA optional
