About the Role

iSphere is seeking a full-time Network Engineer to join our client s infrastructure team in Spring, TX. This is a mission-critical role supporting the design, implementation, and management of all LAN/WAN network systems, ensuring high availability and security across enterprise environments.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced networking professionals looking to work in a high-impact IT infrastructure role within the North Houston area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, configure, implement, and support LAN/WAN network infrastructure.

  • Provide advanced-level break-fix support, systems tuning, and performance optimization.

  • Monitor network systems using enterprise tools and respond to system alerts proactively.

  • Design, document, and maintain network architecture, including VPN, wireless, and security systems.

  • Lead networking projects, contribute to technology roadmaps, and participate in vendor evaluations.

  • Maintain current hardware/software versions and manage upgrades across all networking components.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and align infrastructure with business goals.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide after-hours support as needed.


Core Competencies

  • Deep expertise in routing and switching protocols, network security, and infrastructure planning.

  • Working knowledge of Cisco VXLAN and Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (formerly Cisco DCNM).

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical users.

  • Proven project management skills in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

  • Strong documentation habits and a high concern for network/data accuracy and compliance.

  • Ability to work independently and lead small technical teams when necessary.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering or communications infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware and Cisco technologies.

  • Demonstrated success in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting complex networks.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-grade data circuits and monitoring solutions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • CCNP or CCDP certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 2 years.

  • Experience in vendor lab testing, evaluation, and network scalability initiatives.
