Job Details

Job Title: Middleware Engineer
Client:- Federal Reserve Bank
Location: Open to all Federal Reserve Bank office locations
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Middleware Administration:
  • Administer, install, configure, and maintain WebSphere ND environments (primarily on AIX, with some Windows and Linux systems)
  • Configure high availability setups and manage repository configurations
  • Support and enhance WebSphere environments across development, test, and production environments
Engineering & Modernization:
  • Lead the transition from WebSphere ND to WebSphere Liberty in containerized and standalone Linux environments
  • Design scalable, secure middleware solutions using WebSphere Liberty
  • Create architectural documentation and reusable design patterns for middleware solutions
Automation & Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Ansible Tower
  • Write and manage shell scripts; familiarity with PowerShell and Java is a plus
Agile Delivery & Collaboration:
  • Work within an Agile framework participate in sprints, standups, and shifting priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless delivery of middleware services
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Generate reports using Excel; knowledge of formulas and pivot tables is a plus
  • Maintain accurate technical and process documentation

Required Skills:
  • 10 15 years of experience in middleware administration and engineering
  • Strong expertise with WebSphere ND (Network Deployment)
  • Hands-on experience with WebSphere Liberty and containerized deployment
  • Proficiency in Ansible, Ansible Tower, and shell scripting
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies
  • Ability to lead and design middleware architectures and patterns
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
