Job Summary:
Position Summary
The Senior Consultant, Workday, plays a key role in the design, configuration, and optimization of the Workday platform to support evolving business and HR strategies. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable Workday solutions across multiple modules. The consultant ensures system integrity, drives process improvements, and delivers an exceptional user experience through best-in-class configuration and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday modules such as Core HCM, Compensation/Advanced Compensation, Talent, Absence, Payroll, Recruiting, Adaptive Planning, Learning, Reporting (including Prism).
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Workday configuration and functionality, advising on best practices and emerging capabilities.
Collaborate with business and HR stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver enhancements that improve process efficiency and data accuracy.
Manage and advise on Workday configuration through the full lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Support the Release process, including impact analysis, testing, and adoption planning.
Develop and maintain documentation, including configuration design, business process flows, and security models.
Partner with Integrations, Payroll, and Reporting teams to ensure seamless data flow and consistency across systems.
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system issues and propose sustainable solutions.
Mentor junior configuration analysts and provide guidance on Workday best practices and governance standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the overall Workday roadmap strategy.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration/provisioning experience, including at least two full-cycle implementations or complex enhancement projects.
Deep expertise in one or more Workday modules, with working knowledge across others. Domain knowledge on UKG Time & Attendance touchpoints.
Strong understanding of Workday business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, EIBs, security groups, and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to translate functional requirements into system solutions with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred:
Experience in a global or complex organizational environment with multiple stakeholders and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and HR technology governance frameworks.
Experience with Workday Extend or Prism Analytics a plus.
