Project Scheduler (Large-Scale IT System Implementations)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support large-scale IT system implementation projects within California State agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating, maintaining, and optimizing complex project schedules while ensuring alignment with project goals, resources, and industry best practices. This role requires deep expertise in scheduling tools, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules for large-scale IT implementations.
• Oversee schedule management processes including baseline development, updates, progressive elaboration, resource loading, and resource leveling.
• Ensure schedule quality and integrity in alignment with industry best practices.
• Manage project schedules using Planview, Microsoft Project Desktop, and Microsoft Project Online.
• Create, customize, and automate dashboards, calculations, and reports for project tracking and executive decision-making.
• Collaborate with project managers, functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure accurate schedule integration with project plans.
• Support risk analysis and impact assessment of schedule changes.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of (within the last 10 years) as a Project Scheduler on large-scale IT system implementations.
• 3+ years of scheduling experience (within the last 5 years) using Planview, Microsoft Project Desktop, and Microsoft Project Online.
• 5+ years of experience implementing customized project schedule calculations, reports, and dashboards for performance tracking and decision support.
• 7+ years providing IT consulting services to a California State agency.
• Strong ability to manage complex, multi-phase project schedules with large stakeholder groups and significant resource dependencies.
