Job Title: Business Data Analyst

Location: Austin, TX (3X Per Week)

Contract: 12+ Months (Contract to Extend)

About the Job

• As a Systems Analyst 3 (Business Data Analyst), you will play a crucial role in analyzing, documenting, and translating business needs into technical requirements.
• You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to create effective solutions that address complex business and data problems.
• Your expertise will be essential in designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards, as well as leading data-focused meetings and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current business requirements, system functionalities, workflows, and pain points.
• Translate business needs into detailed Epics and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Conduct studies and cost/benefit analyses of alternative solutions.
• Write detailed requirements and specifications for system modifications and new program functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams.
• Create and maintain essential documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), data dictionaries, and data mapping specifications.
• Design and present visual data models and dashboards to various audiences.
• Facilitate workshops, data-focused meetings, and stakeholder interviews to gather requirements and resolve issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• 13 years of hands-on experience as a Business Data Analyst in the IT industry, with a strong focus on analysis and documentation.
• 13 years of experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams to solve complex business and data problems.
• 10 years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows and data management processes.
• 10 years of experience authoring Epics and User Stories, including acceptance criteria.
• 8 years of experience with data documentation, such as data dictionaries, requirement documents, and data mapping specifications.
• 8 years of experience designing and presenting dashboards and visual data models.
• 8 years of experience leading data-focused meetings and resolving issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4 years of experience with multitasking and managing concurrent data projects.
