Responsibilities
Working on the Defense critical technology areas offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment at the forefront of advancing national defense capabilities in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Directed Energy, Hypersonics, and more. As part of a collaborative team of technical experts, you will support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Accelerator. Your role will involve close interaction with senior DoD leaders and stakeholders across the S&T community. You will have the opportunity to support independent technical assessments, provide expert analysis of emerging technologies, and contribute to decision-making processes impacting the Department's most critical modernization efforts. This project requires a high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and a commitment to shaping the future of national security capabilities.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. - As an engineer for the Accelerator, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Support the office of the Program Manager (PM) for NC3 within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.
- Support systems engineering and analysis of future architectures, including technical evaluation of proposed systems and capabilities.
- Support modeling and simulation analysis of future capabilities.
- Assist in outreach to the S&T community to enable technology development including other U.S. Government, industry, academia, and international partners.
- Assist with and prepare presentations, reports, and other business products as directed by the PM.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility within the last 24 months.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
- Master's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 10 years of applicable experience or a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 7 years of applicable experience.
- Experience with architecture development, systems integration, modeling and simulation analysis.
- Solid understanding of NC3 research and development or related military service is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to create professional communications products for Defense audiences.
