TEKsystems is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a skilled IT Asset Support Technician to oversee inventory, asset tracking, and lifecycle support for desktop and infrastructure technologies. This role involves equipment management, basic infrastructure monitoring, and coordination with internal IT teams to ensure smooth operations across multiple sites.

Overview
TEKsystems is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a skilled IT Asset Support Technician to oversee inventory, asset tracking, and lifecycle support for desktop and infrastructure technologies. This role involves equipment management, basic infrastructure monitoring, and coordination with internal IT teams to ensure smooth operations across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor IT asset health using ServiceNow and Power BI reporting
- Maintain inventory levels of desktops, laptops, and accessories
- Prepare and ship IT equipment to remote sites and track delivery progress
- Manage warranty service and recycling of end-of-life hardware
- Receive, process, and stage incoming equipment from vendors
- Assist with diagnosing and triaging end-user technical issues
- Route and resolve incident tickets through ServiceNow
- Participate in imaging and deployment of new or restored devices
- Support infrastructure projects and collaborate with networking teams
- Assist with event monitoring and basic application/infrastructure observations
- Perform administrative support tasks and contribute to facility-based tech projects
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware, Windows OS, and Office Suite
- Experience with IP networking and virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with asset monitoring tools, event logging, and infrastructure data collection
- Hands-on experience using ServiceNow for IT support functions
- Ability to coordinate and track hardware shipments across locations
- Applicable driver's license required for field-based duties
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments
- Exposure to CISCO switching and routing concepts
- Customer service experience supporting end users
- Understanding of incident escalation and business automation practices
- Experience using Excel and reporting tools
- Background in math/algebra for basic systems analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
- Onsite role with field-based responsibilities
- Requires regular and reliable attendance
- May include travel for shipment coordination and site support
- Collaboration with multiple IT teams on ongoing and new technology initiatives
