Enterprise Messaging & Email Security Engineer

Additional Locations: Dallas, TX (start at Westlake and move to new building in Aug timeframe); Chandler, AZ

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Messaging & Email Security Engineer to support, manage, and ensure the availability of a large-scale on-premise SMTP Backbone and Email Security systems for a financial institution. You will proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues while working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high service reliability.
Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for the SMTP Backbone and Email Security applications managing inbound/outbound routing of all emails.
• Ensure 24x7 availability of the production environment through proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.
• Participate in a global support team, including on-call rotations.
• Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and determine root causes.
• Implement and test changes following enterprise change management policies.
• Collaborate with teams including Networking, DNS, DLP, Exchange, Firewall, and Security groups.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience supporting Production SMTP Email Systems in large corporate environments (25,000+ users).
• Strong expertise with SMTP Enterprise Relay (SER), Proofpoint (Sentrions, POD, PPS), Zix/Zixport, FireEye, Microsoft Defender.
• Knowledge of secure email products (Zix, TLS) and authentication security methods (TLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Experience with Linux/UNIX scripting for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with monitoring & reporting tools (Splunk, Nagios, Thousand Eyes, Grafana).
• Knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, Agile Kanban frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience configuring Sendmail or Postfix.
• 1+ year experience creating dashboards/reports using Splunk.
• Proven ability to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
