Merger & Acquisition - IT Infrastructure Systems Integration Program Manager
Brief Description:
The position will be responsible for oversight and execution of a comprehensive program of IT infrastructure systems integration workstreams that are essential for the successful execution of Huntington s growth through acquisition strategy.
Detailed Description:
The individual in this role will apply specialized experience, knowledge, and skill in IT infrastructure systems integration work that results from merger and acquisition activity in the Banking and Financial Services sector. The role will be a thought leader and expert in the planning and execution of a holistic program of projects critical to success. The focus of those projects is on integrating the physical, technological, and operational infrastructure of the acquired company. This includes but is not limited to (i) Physical: Integration of back office, front office, and data centers, (ii) Consolidation: Core infrastructure systems, networks, compute/print assets, cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud platforms, (iii) Data & Security: Migration and unification of data assets while ensuring data integrity, privacy, compliance, and (iv) Compliance & Risk: Meet regulatory standards and manage operational risk. Emphasis is not just on completing projects, but on strategically combining the technological "backbones" of two organizations to ensure seamless, secure, and compliant day-one operations and long-term synergy realization.
To be successful the candidate must be driven and well-organized. It is essential for the individual to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and drive the project team to complete tasks on agreed schedules. Management will look to this individual to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the IT infrastructure systems integration portfolio. This individual is expected to help lead relationships with the business, cross-impacted IT teams, and 3rd party vendors and must possess the ability to effectively negotiate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate the high-level business case for the acquisition's IT component into a detailed, integrated program roadmap focused on infrastructure consolidation including but not limited to networks, data centers, servers, storage, cloud environments, and end-user solutions.
- Own the critical path for all infrastructure activities required to ensure that the newly acquired bank's employees, systems, and customers can operate without disruption to and through Legal Day One and Conversion Day One milestones.
- Prepare and deliver transparent, concise, and strategic updates to technology executive leadership on the overall health, progress, and financial status of the integration program.
- Provide strategic direction and governance to the individual Project Managers responsible for tactical execution of network integration, data center infrastructure decommissioning, retail branch conversion, etc.
- Serve as a lead IT Infrastructure representative to the central Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Integration Management Office, reporting on progress, risks, and resource needs for the entire infrastructure program.
- Responsible for working with and leading the program / project team to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned project efforts.
- Consistently work effectively and successfully with the core program and project leadership roles to ensure success.
- Actively facilitate and participate in the analysis and review of overarching program and project deliverables.
- Create and maintain the full spectrum of program / project documentation as defined by Huntington s Project Management Methodology.
- Manage programs and projects within approved budget and schedule.
- Ensure consistency of accurate program and project status reports on time.
- Lead the management of program / project change, risk and issue management.
- Ensure all risks and issues are documented and addressed appropriately.
- Ensure consistency of full-scale program / project plans and schedules.
- Ensure consistency to update / maintain program / project information in the project management tool (ServiceNow PPM).
- Schedule and facilitate program and project meetings.
- Facilitate and work with program and project team members to meet established target dates and completion of activities/deliverables under changing conditions.
- Ensure all aspects of the program and project documentation is created, reviewed, and approved by the required individuals.
- Collaborate with the program and project teams on project scope and commit estimates.
- Actively facilitate and participate in release activities for the program / projects.
- Work with minimal to no supervision with latitude for independent judgement and problem solving.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree
- Min. 7 years of experience as a Program Manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services required.
- Experience in IT infrastructure systems integration work stemming from Banking or other Financial Services institution merger or acquisition activity.
- Strong experience utilizing a variety portfolio project management tool (experience with ServiceNow PPM is a plus).
- Strong experience creating and tracking project schedules in MS Excel or MS Project.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards.
- Strong technological and business acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to explain project risks and issues, and IT related concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them.
- Ability to provide strong program and project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change.
- High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to initiate and facilitate change, whether indicated by corporate needs, market or regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional information technology programs and projects.
