About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support complex, large-scale software engineering initiatives. In this role, you will consult on strategic projects, analyze multifaceted technical challenges, and contribute to the development of scalable backend services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions that align with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation on complex software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Analyze and resolve large-scale or long-term engineering challenges involving multiple variables and novel factors.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using modern frameworks and tools.
- Ensure solutions meet functional, compliance, and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
- Contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies and support continuous integration and delivery practices.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or equivalent experience through a combination of work, consulting, military service, or education.
- Proficiency in:
- Java / JavaScript
- XML, SOAP, REST APIs
- Tomcat 10, Unix/Linux environments
- JAXB
- Oracle databases
- Automated testing frameworks
- Backend service development
- OpenShift or similar cloud platforms
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and propose scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
