About the Role

Our client s Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced Azure Engineer / Cloud Architect to lead cloud initiatives, infrastructure automation, and architecture modernization efforts. You ll play a critical role in designing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions that align with enterprise business strategies.

This position requires a seasoned technologist with strong leadership, design, and implementation skills in Microsoft Azure and other major cloud platforms.

Core Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Develop cloud design patterns, frameworks, and reusable deployment templates.
Provide technical leadership for cloud computing and automation initiatives.
Lead architectural reviews, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concepts for new technologies.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
Implement and automate deployment, configuration, patching, and upgrade processes.
Define high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for cloud applications.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps process improvements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cloud technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of IT experience, spanning multiple disciplines (cloud architecture, network management, application development, middleware, or database management).
Proven hands-on experience in Azure cloud services, including architecture, deployment, and management.
Proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell scripting, and automation tools.
Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, and security principles in cloud environments.
Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Windows Server (2016/2019), Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Amazon Linux), and IIS.
Understanding of SOA, object-oriented design, and DevOps pipelines.
Expertise in SSO, IAM, and authentication technologies (AADConnect, ADFS, Okta, Ping Identity, OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
Strong knowledge of web security concepts (HTTPS, Kerberos, certificates, firewalls, reverse proxies, LDAP).
Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-cloud deployments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
Strong background in performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring of cloud systems.
