iSphere is a leading Houston-based IT consulting company specializing in energy trading and risk management systems. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Java / .Net Developer for a long-term oportunity to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing solutions for the OpenLink Endur platform, specifically focusing on Commodities Trade Processing, Risk, and PnL for natural gas trading.
To be successful in this position, you must have at least six years of developer experience working within a Commodities Trade Processing, Risk, and PnL team. You should have expertise in physical and financial deals, scheduling, risk reporting, P&L, and market data for Natural Gas and Client commodities. Additionally, you should be familiar with energy trading and risk management processes across front, middle, and back office functionalities.
As a Java / .Net Developer at iSphere, you will collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to determine requirements and functional specifications. You will also be responsible for designing and developing new reports, trade feed booking scripts, and downstream feeds. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to effectively advise all levels of business users and solve complex business and technical problems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Minimum six years of experience as a developer and technical architect supporting commercial gas trading operations
- Experience supporting and working with commercial IT teams and consultants providing functional and technical expertise for commercial systems
- Proficiency in SQL, AVS, Java/.Net Open Components, and experience writing stored procedures in SQL Server
- Strong understanding of natural gas and Client contracts in the wholesale market, gas pricing, gas nominations & scheduling, gas transmission, and distribution
