Are you a seasoned Civil Engineer with a passion for managing teams and projects in the construction industry? If you have a knack for overseeing complex construction projects and love to see them through from inception to completion, this opportunity is for you. Our company is seeking a Permanent Civil Engineering Group Manager with a deep understanding of wastewater and stormwater systems. This role will require a dynamic professional who can lead our team, manage multiple projects, and ensure that all engineering activities align with our technical and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Civil Engineering Group Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Leading and managing a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, and facilitating professional development.
2. Overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects, with a specific focus on wastewater and stormwater systems.
3. Coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and any issues are promptly resolved.
4. Ensuring all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
5. Developing and implementing project plans, including budgets and schedules, and monitoring progress to ensure objectives are achieved.
6. Conducting site inspections and audits to verify the quality of work and adherence to safety standards.
7. Contributing to the development of proposals and bids for new projects.
8. Participating in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
9. Continually reviewing and improving engineering processes and procedures for increased efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Civil Engineering Group Manager position, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. A Professional Engineer (PE) license in CA or the ability to transfer within 6 months.
3. At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in the engineering design, public works and/or construction industries, with a focus on wastewater and stormwater systems.
4. Proven experience managing teams and overseeing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
5. Excellent knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering and construction.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
9. Proficiency in using civil engineering software and tools.
10. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
