Medical Management Intake Specialist | Remote | Michigan | Contract
Walker Healthforce is seeking a Medical Management Intake Specialist with 2+ years of experience located in Michigan. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or related field
- Strong understanding of health insurance processes, including claims management, benefits coordination, or prior authorization procedures
- Strong customer service and phone skills with experience handling inbound and outbound calls
- High school graduate and college or university experience
WE CONSIDER IT A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
- Two years of college or associate level degree equivalent
- UM experience
- Experience with providing high quality, provider focused servicing to facilities and doctors
- Bi-Lingual/Spanish
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience with providing high quality, provider focused servicing to facilities and doctors
- Work collaboratively as a team member with peers and nurses
- Concisely and accurately enter documentation into system
- Effectively engage over the phone via both inbound and outbound with providers
- Process provider requests as needed
- Acts as providers first trusted source for UM Prior Authorization programs
- Assign faxes to designated staff
- Process requests for compliance inquiries
- Access various UM department mailboxes and voicemail as needed
