Job Details

Job Title: Mainframe Top Secret (TSS) Security Administrator

Duration: 7 Months

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject-matter expert (SME) for Mainframe Top Secret (TSS) Security Administration, ensuring data security and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform senior-level z/OS systems administration, including configuration, maintenance, and break/fix support for mainframe environments.
  • Administer user access, security rules, and access controls within TSS.
  • Manage certificate renewals, TLS/SSL configurations, and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP/FTPS).
  • Provide primary technical support for z/OS operating systems and system components, including planning, implementation, testing, and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and security, conduct analysis, and support risk mitigation efforts.
  • Diagnose platform, software, and ISV product issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Provide end-user support for mainframe-related tools and ISV products such as BlueZone.
  • Support Mainframe Production Control, batch processing, and job scheduling operations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day mainframe operations within the State's Consolidated Data Center Services (DCS).
  • Collaborate with Network Administration, Customer Support, and Applications Development teams to support mainframe operations.
  • Support legacy systems and contribute to Mainframe Transformation initiatives.
  • Assist with Informatica Power Exchange Administration for Change Data Capture (CDC) using IMS and VSAM data sources

Required Skills/ Environment:

  • 8+ years of Hands-On Experience with TSS (Top Secret Security)
  • 5+ years of Hands-On Experience with z/OS Administration
  • 5+ years of Experience with JES2, z/OS Unix System Services (OMVS), Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)
  • 3+ years of Experience with TLS configuration (certificates, SSL RSA Keys, SFTP, FTPS)

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of Experience with REXX
  • 3+ years of Experience with performance monitoring to include initial analysis of performance issues
  • 3+ years of Experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration
  • 3+ years of Working knowledge for each of the following:
  • z/OS Operation
  • z/OS Networking VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications
  • Access Method), TCP/IP (Transmission Control
  • Protocol/Internet Protocol)
  • z/OS-centric automated job scheduling and
  • management software (JOBTRAC)
