Title: Technical Email Deliverability Consultant (Marketo & HubSpot - Gmail Focus)

Location: Remote

Type: Contract (Project-Based)

NOTE: This is a technical deliverability project - NOT a lifecycle marketing role.

We are seeking a hands-on email infrastructure and deliverability expert - someone fluent in Gmail inboxing challenges, not campaign strategy or creative execution. If your background is primarily lifecycle, nurture streams, or marketing optimization, this is not the right fit.

What We Need:

An experienced Marketo and HubSpot deliverability specialist with a proven track record of repairing sender reputation, improving inbox placement (especially for Gmail), and fixing misaligned email authentication infrastructure.

This consultant will audit and resolve critical Gmail-specific deliverability issues across two separate instances, ensuring improved inbox performance and long-term deliverability health.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot Gmail inbox placement failures, including spam filtering, throttling, or delayed sends
• Identify root causes tied to Gmail's sender reputation systems, domain health, and authentication gaps
• Implement and validate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records at the domain and subdomain level
• Guide and execute IP warming plans for dedicated or reassigned IP addresses
• Resolve misconfigurations in Marketo and HubSpot infrastructure affecting email delivery
• Monitor domain and IP reputation using Postmaster Tools, Talos, Barracuda, MXToolbox, etc.
• Conduct header analysis and log review to trace technical causes behind inboxing issues
• Remediate RBL listings or list incidents by coordinating with postmasters or deliverability providers
• Recommend subdomain segmentation strategies to isolate marketing traffic

Requirements

? Required Expertise:

• 5+ years technical experience with Marketo and HubSpot email infrastructure (not campaign execution)
• Deep knowledge of Gmail's deliverability rules and hands-on experience repairing Gmail sender reputation
• Proficiency in DNS configuration and email authentication protocols: SPF, DKIM, DMARC
• Understanding of SMTP, MTA behavior, and email header diagnostics
• Demonstrated success with IP warming and restoring healthy domain reputation
• Ability to interpret and act on deliverability monitoring tools and bounce classification
