Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will perform time and motion studies, develop standardized work processes, estimate manpower needs, and create standard data. You will analyze uptime data using proven techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 7-step, and the 5 Whys to improve equipment and focus on increasing machine uptime in a manufacturing assembly environment. Additionally, you will create and modify plant layouts and process flows to enhance efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct time and motion studies and develop standardized work processes.
- Estimate manpower needs and create standard data.
- Analyze uptime data using techniques like RCA, 7-step, and 5 Whys.
- Improve equipment with a focus on increasing machine uptime.
- Create and modify plant layouts and process flows for greater efficiency.
- Collaborate on open issues resolution with OEMs and ensure PPAP approval.
- Provide engineering support for material flow process documents, standards, and procedures.
- Offer training as required and integrate consideration of all processes and assessments.
- Develop and support standard documentation.
- Support manufacturing process planning and create standardized production procedures.
- Create documentation such as work instructions and revision drawings.
- Develop detailed design reviews and approvals, including tooling.
- Work closely with plant stakeholders to implement changes on the shop floor that optimize process flow and layout.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in process improvement and process engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Work Environment
The position is based in a large manufacturing facility with over 2,000 employees, specializing in the production of more than eight types of engines and transmissions.
