Job Details

The Purchasing Specialist follows established standards and procedures in the preparation and execution of Information Technology contracts in support of our critical customer, the US Postal Service. Federal procurement experience required.

MBA CSi needs one (1) Purchasing Specialist to conduct procurement transactions as directed by a Postal Supply Management Specialist and Team Lead.
Task Details:

  • Contract funding actions
  • Contract close-outs
  • Administrative contract modifications
  • Unused funds decommitments
  • Period of Performance extensions
  • Contracting Officer's Representative changes
  • Communication with clients and IT service and product vendors

Requirements/Assumptions

  1. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in federal procurement process and a total of 5-8 years of relevant purchasing experience.
  2. Must have strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  3. Full time, 40 hours per week.
  • Note: The position will be 5 days a week in person at USPS Headquarters in Washington DC. After three (3) months, the Postal Service may consider 2 days of telecommute. After six (6) months, the Postal Service may consider increasing telecommute to three (3) days per week based on performance.

Education & Experience :

Purchasing Specialist I

    • Must have a relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Procurement)
    • 5-8 years of relevant contracting experience.

Additional Requirements:

    • Proficiency using MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Ability to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
    • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements as candidates will be processed for a Public Trust clearance.
