IT Infrastructure Manager
Location: Hybrid - Must reside in Hawaii
Type: Contract
TEKsystems is partnering with a Hawai'i-based organization to find a hands-on, analytically driven IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead a large portfolio of infrastructure refresh projects. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in on-premise networking, data center operations, and hardware upgrades (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, or similar). The successful candidate will bring creative solutions, strong project evaluation skills, and the ability to interface with executives while driving technical teams toward successful outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring creative solutions, strong project evaluation skills, and the ability to interface with executives while driving technical teams toward successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate 40-50 concurrent infrastructure projects, with a focus on network upgrades and data center improvements.
- Apply strong analytical thinking to assess project needs, evaluate risks, and refine execution strategies.
- Collaborate with technical teams on hands-on hardware upgrades and infrastructure refreshes.
- Prioritize project management analysis and documentation (plans, evaluations, and process improvements) over traditional deliverables.
- Introduce new ideas and creative approaches to improve project outcomes and refresh strategies.
- Facilitate monthly reviews to assess project execution and identify opportunities for refinement.
- Navigate organizational dynamics and help align stakeholders with project goals.
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation and ensure accountability across teams.
- Interface with executive leadership as needed, with a focus on strategic alignment rather than frequent reporting.
Required Qualifications
Experience Over Education:
- 5+ years of IT infrastructure project management experience, with a strong emphasis on networking and hardware.
- Proven success managing large portfolios of simultaneous projects.
- Experience in K-12 education environments and E-rate programs is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred but not Required):
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
- ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or other infrastructure-related certifications.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of on-premise networks, data center operations, and hardware systems (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process evaluation.
- Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Work Environment
- Hybrid Role: Candidates must reside in Hawai'i and be available for on-site meetings and site visits.
- Work with a technically capable team responsible for physical implementation.
- Collaborate in a dynamic environment with monthly strategy sessions and evolving priorities.
