Job Details

Role: Cloverleaf Engineer
Location: 100% remote and can work EST hours.
Duration: 18 month contract

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Integration/Interface Engineer supports the design, development, and optimization of interface and data integration solutions across healthcare systems, including Epic. This role assists in architecting scalable, secure, and supportable integration frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, and secure communication protocols. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver robust, high-performing solutions that support clinical, administrative, and financial workflows. Responsibilities include supporting interface engine operations, learning from senior team members, and contributing to continuous improvement in integration practices to support organizational goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes to the achievement of departmental goals and compliance with policies, procedures, quality, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assists in the development and delivery of interfaces and integration solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
Supports daily interface engine operations, including monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and documentation updates.
Participates in the implementation of improvements, enhancements, and updates to administrative, clinical, and financial applications and integration solutions, including Epic solutions.
Collaborates with senior engineers to ensure adherence to corporate interfacing standards and integration best practices.
Participates in the development of test scenarios and test plans. Executes unit, system, integration, and volume testing with oversight.
Assists in the development and maintenance of user and departmental support documentation.
Learns and applies standards for design, analysis, programming, and documentation.
Maintains awareness of current healthcare technology trends and integration tools.
Supports backup and monitoring processes for application assets to ensure service continuity.
Demonstrates initiative in learning and applying integration frameworks, protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and tools (e.g., Epic Bridges, Interconnect).
Participates in the development, implementation, and support of system interfaces and integration solutions, including message routing, scripting, and communication protocols.
Monitors and validates system performance through unit, system, integration, and volume testing, ensuring appropriate operations in terms of response time, storage capacity, and continuity of service.
Supports application lifecycle activities including software updates, routine maintenance, and enhancements.
Provides technical support and problem resolution for application and integration issues, coordinating with vendors, IS teams, and end users.
Participates in multidisciplinary teams, meetings, and committees to support quality and service improvement initiatives.
Demonstrates readiness to take on increasing responsibility and grow into a senior integration role through continuous learning and performance.
