Sr. Network Security Engineer II
Highlight of skills required:
- Experience: 6-8 years
- Advanced understanding of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS.
- Advanced understanding of core IT infrastructure and systems, including Active Directory, virtualization, and various networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Experience with a broad range of technologies such as Citrix Load Balancers, Splunk, SolarWinds, ServiceNOW, VeloCloud, Cisco IOS, and Wireshark.
- Advanced level professional knowledge within the discipline.
Salary Range: $115,000 to $170,000
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of complex network security systems to provide a stable, dependable, and efficient network environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise and make key decisions on technical issues based on input from project team members and available resources.
- Contribute significantly to the design, implementation, and maintenance of all new network security hardware and software.
- Lead the development and deployment of Company standards on all network security-related equipment.
- Identify requirements for the administration and maintenance of all network security gear and oversee the deployment of systems to ensure those needs are met.
- Contribute with troubleshooting, configuration of backups, reboots, and technical support of the environment.
- Design and perform seamless upgrades of existing equipment.
- Conduct project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Experience with disaster recovery planning.
- Advanced understanding of the current version of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS
- Basic understanding of current and past Microsoft server operating systems
- Basic understanding of current Linux-based operating systems.
- Advanced understanding of core IT infrastructure and systems including but not limited to Active Directory, virtualization, and networking equipment.
- Advanced understanding of networking concepts, (TCPIP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VPN, PCAP, SDWAN)
- Ability to analyze system logs.
- Experience with the installation of highly available enterprise security equipment.
- Ability to perform routine audits of systems and software and perform maintenance upgrades.
- Maintain the level of proficiency necessary for competence in the position.
- Experience with the following technologies: Palo Alto Firewalls, Global Protect, Panorama, Prisma, Citrix Load Balancers, Splunk, SolarWinds, Service NOW, VeloCloud, Cisco IOS, Wireshark
- Certifications a plus including PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 6 to 8 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Information Technology or related technical discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus. Typically hold one or more industry certifications.
