Job Details

Title: Cisco Network Engineer (mid to senior level)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-Site)
Type: Contract to Hire


Your role:


  • Support daily operation of enterprise communications networks.

    • Support installation and repair of routers, switches, WAN equipment, terminal servers, leased line equipment, and file servers.
    • Support network and hardware aspects of clinical and financial systems, as well as office automation and payroll systems. Provide management with hardware and software recommendations.
    • Help coordinate software upgrades for clinical and financial systems, office automation, and payroll systems including quarterly upgrades, system patches, etc.
    • Configure and maintain enterprise WAN and LAN environment, including implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, usage monitoring, and development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the environment.
    • Coordinate implementation of remote office computing, laptop computers and network expansion.
    • Play a key role in completing documentation of agency network, workstations and related peripheral equipment.

  • Participate in ensuring data security and disaster recovery.

    • Serve a key role in ensuring data security including the planning, design, and implementation of security measures that safeguard access to enterprise files.
    • Develop and implement general network security to include system backups.
    • Play a key role in developing and exercising disaster recovery processes for the long-term disaster recovery function of I/S to provide the highest level of protection possible for the enterprise.
    • Play a key role in maintaining and improving systems monitoring.

  • Provide internal customer service and support.

    • Assure quality customer service to all customers; promote positive human relationships and contribute to a supportive and cooperative work environment. Maintain positive, friendly demeanor when interacting with all customers.
    • Serve as second level resource to the Help Desk and IT staff regarding software applications and network questions/problems.
    • Participate in after hour on-call rotation for emergency network/server support.
    • Update ticketing system with resolutions and adds solutions to the knowledgebase when appropriate.

What you ve got:


  • 3+ years of Cisco experience (the more the better!)
  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Patching and upgrades experience
  • Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA configuration, setup, and troubleshooting experience
  • Cisco Firewall FTD tool and FMC Management Tool
  • Secure Workload (server side)
  • Good troubleshooting experience
  • Microsoft experience
  • Preferred background in 24/7 environment and/or healthcare
