Job Details

Description

The Unified Communications Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining both onsite and remote unified communications systems. This role covers various UC technologies, including premise, cloud, and traditional telecommunications systems, advanced applications, and vendor-specific hardware/software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for unified communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot desktop and server operating system applications.
  • Assist with deployment of UC solutions at multiple locations.
  • Maintain UC servers, gateways, endpoints, and applications.
  • Coordinate with communications service providers for voice and data installations and troubleshooting.
  • Address alerts and notifications from monitoring systems via service tickets.
  • Contribute to the design and support of disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Communicate incident progress and planned changes or outages as needed.


Requirements

  • Understanding of unified communications and VoIP/SIP protocols.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity as related to UC technologies.
  • Familiarity with networks, operating systems, firewalls, and IT security fundamentals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephony and active listening.
  • Diagnostic skills for resolving technical challenges.
  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing demands.
  • Technical awareness for aligning resources with issues.
  • Awareness of organizational IT services supported.
  • Proficiency with support tools and technologies.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
