Engineering Manager - AMR

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. As an AMR Controls/IT Software Engineer will be responsible for the engineering design and deployment of AMR Fleet management software at customer facilities, the building of standard libraries to improve programming efficiency, and the development new software interfaces enabling new product offerings and improvements The work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation/AMR business at our HQ in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers. You will be mainly accountable for: Customer Focused: Working with customers to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. On Time Delivery: Working on project deliverables and engineering tasks to ensure on time and on budget delivery Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Quickly identifying and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations Collaboration: Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure compatibility and functionality of the engineered system Communication: Documenting and presenting software designs to customers and internal teams

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering, Automation, Robotics solutions development, or AGV/AMR Engineering/programming.
  • Willing to Travel up to 50% (first 6 months to 1 yr for training)
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and database management
  • Knowledge of communication protocols with PLCs, SCADAs, MES, Kepware
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, PLC programming preferred
  • Spanish Language proficiency is a plus.
