Job Title: PC/LAN Technician
Start Date: ASAP
Duration (Contract, Contract-to-Hire, Permanent): 6-month contract
Work Location (Onsite, Hybrid, Remote, Travel Requirements): Onsite M-F 8am to 5pm - Must report to Safford, AZ 85546 every morning at 8am. Resources will need to have the ability to drive to various locations throughout Northern/Southern/Central Arizona as needed using Client Vehicle.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of current working experience in an IT field
- Experience with Windows 10
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure industry standards and best practices
- Experience with DNS and DHCP
Position Requirements
- Must have a current AZ Driver s License with a good driving record a 39-month review will be conducted.
- This is NOT a remote or telecommuting position. The successful candidate must report to the Duty Post every morning at 8:00 AM.
- Must be able to achieve an ACJIS Certification and pass an Arizona Criminal Justice Investigation with fingerprint and criminal background check.
- ACJIS Certification (Arizona Criminal Justice Information System) is provided by ADOT and includes a full background check with fingerprinting. The candidate is then required to pass a written test to work on ADOT Enforcement Officers (ADOT Police) devices.
Travel Requirements
- Position will require extensive daily travel.
- Candidate must have the ability to drive to various locations throughout Northern, Southern, and Central Arizona using an ADOT vehicle.
- Infrequent overnight travel within Arizona may be required for training and coverage purposes.
Role Summary
The PC/LAN Technician role within ADOT s Information Technology Group (ITG) is the face of ITG. Technicians interact daily with internal customers, resolving issues and acting as a liaison with other ADOT divisions.
Duties Include
- Server and desktop support
- Customer support on the ADOT network
- Troubleshooting computer and hardware issues
- Researching and implementing solutions
- Warranty and non-warranty computer/printer repairs
- Assisting with assigned project tasks
- Ensuring compliance with system software standards
- Teaching customers how to use PC-related software and hardware
- Implementing patches, security fixes, testing/validating system configurations
- Installing/configuring PC hardware, software, peripherals
- Supporting major hardware/software deployments
- Monitoring system reliability and availability
- Attending staff meetings and completing training
- Performing preventive maintenance on hardware/software
- Traveling between sites for task completion
- Teaching new staff troubleshooting, setup, and installation procedures
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- General working knowledge of infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and department operating procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft products, including OS and Office
- Knowledge of Google Suite
- Understanding of computer hardware configuration and repair
- Knowledge of Ethernet network topology
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure standards and best practices
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and problem analysis
- Experience with:
- Active Directory
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2008/2012
- Backup solutions
- Time reporting tools
- MS System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2
- Minimum of 4 years of current IT experience
Associate or bachelor s degree in a related field is preferred
