Job Title: Data Storage Architect
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Storage Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level SAN/NAS storage environments. This is a remote, 6-month contract opportunity with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in storage provisioning, performance tuning, and data protection across a range of systems including VMware, Windows, and UNIX/Linux platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and manage enterprise SAN/NAS storage infrastructure across multiple customer environments
Provision storage to VMware, Windows, and UNIX/Linux servers, including configuration of RAID levels, LUNs, and volume layouts
Configure and maintain backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery systems to support business continuity
Apply security hardening and upgrades to maintain storage performance, availability, and data integrity
Troubleshoot complex storage issues and conduct root cause analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, virtualization, and application engineering
Maintain up-to-date and detailed documentation of system designs, configurations, and procedures
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience architecting and managing SAN/NAS storage in enterprise environments
Strong knowledge of Cisco and Brocade SAN Fabrics
Proficiency with EMC storage technologies such as Data Domain, Avamar, Isilon, and Dell EMC Power servers
Experience with storage protocols including NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3, and Fibre Channel (FC)
Proven ability in storage provisioning, data migration, and operational support
Familiarity with enterprise backup and recovery strategies and tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., EMCISA, Dell EMC Proven Professional)
Experience with cloud-integrated and hybrid storage solutions
Strong understanding of storage performance tuning and capacity planning
Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks
